The main objectives of the project are to promote social welfare and quality of life of the inhabitants of coastal municipalities, the revaluation of fisheries as economic, tourist and professional activities and the protection of cultural heritage in fisheries areas. Following the traces of autochthonous heritage, by developing new attractive, inclusive and promotional fishing activities in urban areas and rural coastal municipalities, we will consolidate the fishing identity of Slovenian Istria in the Adriatic. The activities of the operation (revaluation of the fishing profession and promotion of selective sustainable fisheries among young people, which sustainably preserves marine biological resources) will also enable the creation of new jobs. Diversification of fisheries also outside the coastal area will be stimulated by including content on fisheries in education and in the active promotion of fishermen of Slovenian Istria in the wider Slovenian area.
