Name of measure: Traceability of fishery or aquaculture products

Legal basis: Article 68(1)(e) of Regulation (EU) No 508/2014

Measure summary: Contributing to the traceability of fishery or aquaculture products and, where relevant, the development of a Union-wide ecolabel for fishery and aquaculture products as referred to in Regulation (EU) No 1379/2013. The measure is intended to improve the traceability of fishery and aquaculture products with additional information to the consumer about the provenance and origin of the product or foodstuff, the method of production, storage, temperature regime, etc., which means added value and additional information to the consumer. Consumers will be, based on additional verifiable information, able to choose the products that are grown/harvested in a familiar environment, which will be verified on the spot purchase.

Beneficiaries: Fishermen natural persons, companies engaged in business activities of marine fisheries and aquaculture, holders of complementary activities of breeding and processing of aquatic organisms on the farm and companies registered for the processing and preservation of fish, crustaceans and molluscs.

Selection criteria

Intensity of public aid: The public aid intensity is 50 percent of the eligible expenditure of the operation.
